  1.     EMD Data Expiration

  3.     Enlighten stores the information it may need to access later in a
  4.     common repository called Enterprise Management Database (EMD). Some
  5.     of this information, especially the log files, can grow quite large
  6.     over time.

  8.     You can use this module to set default parameters for how long you
  9.     want Enlighten to keep some of this log information around.

  12.     Fields
  13.  
  14.     The default setting for all fields is 90 days. The minimum time
  15.     increment you can specify for any of these fields is one day. See
  16.     "TIME FORMATS" on page C-1 for more information about the time
  17.     formats you can use in these fields.

  19.     The window has the following fields:

  21.     Backup Catalogs
  22.  
  23.     Use this field to specify a data expiration time for all data
  24.     associated with maintaining the Backup Catalogs. This includes the
  25.     data stored in the backup_tbl, the cat_index_tbl, and the
  26.     file_index_tbl.

  28.     Events Data

  30.     Use this field to specify a data expiration time for all data
  31.     associated with the event messages which PEP sends to the EMD. This
  32.     includes the data stored in the events_tbl.

  34.     Performance Data
  35.  
  36.     Use this field to specify a data expiration time for all log
  37.     messages AgentMon sends to the EMD. This includes unused Hardware
  38.     and Software index data. Data will also be expired from
  39.     event_log_tbl, hrdw_index_tbl, and sftw_index_tbl.

  41.     Note: Every Events test can potentially be logged to the EMD.

  43.     Buttons

  45.     Click on the Apply button once you've chosen the times you want for
  46.     these categories. Enlighten will then remove any of this type of
  47.     data as it becomes older than the times you've specified (expires).
  48.     Click on the Cancel button to ignore any changes and close this
  49.     window.
